I have some special things planned for the trike this summer and it dawned on me this morning that I haven’t ridden the Catrike 700 since Thanksgiving. I decided to give it a blast on the altamont course with my wife on her TT bike for company.
I noticed that I have lost a lot of pedal smoothness on the trike and that it is a lot harder work than the Bacchetta. Strangely enough it actually feels better climbing even though it is actually slower. I had forgotten how well it climbs. I also forgot just how beat up you get on rough roads. The Bacchetta is a magic carpet ride in comparison.
I have a ton of work to do on the 700 to achieve my big goal for the year.
