Noon Time with The Cycletrons : Patterson Pass Loop : Specialized Tarmac

I joined in with the Cycletrons Noon ride today over Patterson Pass on my Specialized Tarmac. There was a pretty small group of I think 6-7 riders and it was a bit cool and windy.  I thought this ride would be good prep for Sundays Mount Hamilton Classic as it always gives me a good workout.

Pace was brisk as usual, especially on the Altamont Pass, but we were missing some of the faster climbers so the climb up Midway wasnt an eyeballs out big ring effort this time. I ended up sat on the front for much of the Patterson climb into the headwind but this suited me as I got to ride at my own pace. By the time I got to the last section of Patterson Pass it was down to me and my team mate Allan and I managed to put in a little surge and crested the climb in first place.

My legs were pretty shot at the top and I got dropped on the descent of Patterson and so ended up finishing with the second group. I Need to get some serious  rest in for the big weekend now.
